Norwich Mine Interpretive Trail

Trail Distance:
1.2 miles with 1 loop.
Description:
Norwich Interpretive Trail at the Norwich Mine Complex continues to move forward with the work of the Ottawa Heritage Program staff and Trale-UP. Several years of archaeological investigation through a research partnership with Michigan Technological University have identified many key features of the history of the Ohio Trap Rock mining community atop the Norwich Bluffs. Last year the Heritage Resource program and Trale-UP reviewed the proposed trail route, re-assessed the transportation plan, and established a new plan for engineering and road design. The creation of interpretive signs is scheduled for this next year.
